Location: Chalet View Lodge, Portola / Graeagle Wedding Style: Rustic + classic summer wedding in the mountains, with jewel tone accents, natural elements and greenery.Reed + Colleen were married at the Chalet View Lodge, surrounded by pine trees and fresh mountain air. Their “I Do Crew” consisted of sixteen of their closest friends, and they were truly the most supportive group. For the wedding’s design, we wanted to keep in tone with the surroundings, so we used potted plants, garlands of greenery, and rustic wooden farm tables. Jewel tones added pops of color in the florals, napkins, and bridesmaid’s dresses. There was a doughnut bar for dessert and the most delicious food by Butter and Salt Catering. The bride, Colleen, has an amazing voice, and recorded multiple songs for the evening. She even sang live for the Mother + Son dance as her new husband danced with his Mom. A moment that will stick with me forever was the Father Daughter dance – the song Colleen wrote and recorded for her Dad still makes me cry just thinking about it. I must have listened to it five times in a row on the drive to the venue (crying the entire time). As the night went along, it got a little chilly, but that did not deter any of their guests to leave. Everyone bundled up in blankets, got cozy, and celebrated all night. It was so sweet to see couples on the dance floor, wrapped in blankets together. The venue they were married at is a resort that allows you to rent the entire property for your guests, which is exactly what Reed + Colleen did. They were able to have an entire wedding weekend with those they love most. If you are looking for a Northern California wedding (or Tahoe wedding) in the woods, Chalet View Lodge may be perfect for you!
